Payroll/HR Representative

We are seeking a Payroll/HR Representative to have both administrative and strategic responsibilities in assisting with employee related processes such as payroll, recruitment, employee relations, training & development and compliance.
Job description
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the accurate and timely preparation, documentation and reconciliation of payroll and the administration of the payroll system.
- Audit timekeeping records to confirm accuracy and in accordance to company policies.
- Reviews the computation of pay and associated deductions for accuracy.
- Responds to and resolves any inquiries regarding pay or payroll reporting.
- Ensures payroll issues are escalated and resolved promptly.
- Enter employee information into HRIS for new hires, deductions, personnel changes, direct deposits, and terminations.
- Maintain salary, benefits, attendance, training and all other appropriate employee status in HRIS system.
- Ensures compliance with federal and state laws pertaining to payroll and recordkeeping.
- Performs recruitment activities and evaluates candidates for open positions.
- Source and interact with job candidates using multiple platforms to coordinate interviews.
- Coordinate and monitor background screenings and pre-employment physicals with current vendors.
- Plans and conducts new employee orientation, including preparation of offer letters and benefit summaries.
- Maintains personnel files in an accurate and legal manner.
- Prepares memos, correspondence and documentation necessary to document or communicate related HR activities.
- Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals, including preparation of offer letters and benefit summaries.
- Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with focus in Human Resources or Business Management preferred; one to two years’ related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in Human Resources and/or Payroll preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Skilled at building and effectively managing interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company and can objectively coach employees through complex, difficult, and emotional issues.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Able to act with a high level of discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism.
