Quality Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate product and process quality issues using appropriate root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone, DOE).
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Support data collection, trend analysis, and reporting using statistical tools.
- Lead or assist in the development and maintenance of quality planning documents, including FMEAs (Failure Mode Effects Analyses), Control Plans, and APQPs (Advanced Product Quality Planning).
- Support PPAP (Product Part Approval Process) submissions, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to customers.
- Analyze physical property data and recommend appropriate PSS (Process Setpoints), ISS (Initial Setpoints), and CSS (Control Setpoints).
- Assist the ISO9001 process by becoming an Internal Auditor and participating in at least one Internal Audit each year.
- Apply Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) methodology to new product and process introductions.
- Identify opportunities to enhance data analysis methods and improve product or process understanding.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of chemical processes.
- Experience with quality tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, Control Plans, 8D, Root Cause Analysis).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for data analysis; experience with Minitab or similar statistical software is a plus.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and technical reporting.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive relationships across all levels.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive quality and customer information.
