Quality Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate product and process quality issues using appropriate root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone, DOE).
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Support data collection, trend analysis, and reporting using statistical tools.
  • Lead or assist in the development and maintenance of quality planning documents, including FMEAs (Failure Mode Effects Analyses), Control Plans, and APQPs (Advanced Product Quality Planning).
  • Support PPAP (Product Part Approval Process) submissions, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to customers.
  • Analyze physical property data and recommend appropriate PSS (Process Setpoints), ISS (Initial Setpoints), and CSS (Control Setpoints).
  • Assist the ISO9001 process by becoming an Internal Auditor and participating in at least one Internal Audit each year.
  • Apply Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) methodology to new product and process introductions.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance data analysis methods and improve product or process understanding.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical processes.
  • Experience with quality tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, Control Plans, 8D, Root Cause Analysis).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for data analysis; experience with Minitab or similar statistical software is a plus.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and technical reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive relationships across all levels.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive quality and customer information.
